VZ Editor is a small, fast text editor for DOS, written in assembly by c.mos and sold by Village Center in the 1990s. It was very popular in Japan. Its source was later released under the BSD 3-Clause licence. This page runs the English US build of VZ Editor 1.6, assembled from that source and translated to C and WebAssembly.
In the browser, F4 in Volkov Commander opens the selected file in VZ Editor. Backups are on by default, so saving keeps the previous version beside the file.
